Charging and Fueling - Battery

BATTERY ELECTRIC VEHICLES
Battery electric vehicles are fueled by electricity and can be recharged at a charger installed at your home or workplace, or at many other charging locations in California. Smaller neighborhood electric vehicles use a 110 volt plug that will plug into any 110 volt outlet.
Charging time varies depending on how “empty” the battery is, how much energy the battery holds (or how big the tank is) and other factors. In general, it takes approximately six to eight hours to recharge vehicles that are ”empty.” However, most people choose to charge their vehicle while they are working, sleeping, shopping or doing something that really doesn't impact their ability to use their car.
EVCHARGERNEWS.COM: This web site was compiled by EV drivers and is the most extensive list of inductive and conductive EV charging stations in California. The site provides listings for some other states as well, such as Arizona and Georgia.
CLEANCARMAPS.COM: Searchable database of EV chargers and alternative fueling stations in California, including compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, liquefied petroleum, ethanol (E85), hydrogen and biodiesel.
ALTERNATIVE FUELS DATA CENTER: A site developed by the Department of Energy that provides maps to refueling stations in the US for CNG, LPG/propane, ethanol, electric, biodiesel, hydrogen, and liquefied natural gas (LNG).
