FLEET INFORMATION:

The California Department of General Services provides annual vehicle contracts for the purchase of passenger cars, vans, utility vehicles, and both light duty and medium duty work trucks. Vehicles listed on these contracts are awarded based on a life cycle analysis and thusly are some of the cleanest and most fuel efficient vehicles within their class. In addition, individual contracts are developed for Alternative Fuel Vehicles (AFVs) and Hybrid vehicles. These contracts are available to all state agencies, local city and county governments, K-12 education, special districts, colleges and universities.

The Energy Policy Act (EPAct) of 1992 set forth the statutory requirements for the acquisition of alternative fuel vehicles by Federal and State agencies. In fiscal year (FY) 2000 and beyond, 75% of light-duty vehicle (LDV) acquisitions in covered fleets must be AFVs. Vehicles that weigh less than 8,500 lb gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) are considered LDVs. See links below for further information or to access these contracts.
