If you are looking for cars that meet the strictest smog-forming emission standards in California, this tool allows you to search and compare vehicles by their Smog Rating.
In California all new vehicles are required to display a Smog Rating as part of the Fuel Economy and Environment Label. The Smog Rating ranks each vehicle’s pollutant levels of Non-Methane Organic Gases (NMOG) and Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx) relative to all other vehicles within that model year. Smog Ratings are on a scale of 1 – 10, with 10 being the cleanest, and 5 being the average. Cars with a Smog Rating of 8 or higher meet California's strictest emission standards and are the cleanest available.
Think clean and buy vehicles with higher ratings.
